Q. Why does Giant BCAA contain so much leucine?
A. As stated above Giant BCAA is indeed Leucine dominant. Leucine is the amino acid most depleted during hard training or workouts. Ensuring the body replenishes its leucine stores will be detrimental to your performance and goals. This is not to say that isoleucine or valine are not important. A. In short No. Whilst the BCAA's in Giant Sports Giant BCAA are at a higher ratio than most formulas they are stil not an adequate replacement for your protein powder. Protein powder is broken down into amino acids of which there are in total 20 (Giant BCAA only contains 3). Nine of these are deemed "essential" as the body can't synthesise them, so they need to be gained from our diet. Whilst the BCAA's "switch on" protein synthesis all the amino acids are required to actually develop and maintain lean muscle.
