OxyELITE Protein is finally out! This incredible "leaning protein" powder has a deliciously thick and rich flavor, but also includes some great compounds that help you burn fat -- and there's even a new type of fiber with tons of benefits!
Reviewers absolutely loved the flavoring, but more importantly, the ingredient profile, which is discussed below. But first, we need to talk taste, because it's that good:
Our OxyELITE Protein ReviewHere's our OxyELITE Protein Review, with the first video below:
Here's some brief details:
A Fat-Burning Ingredient Profile
The protein blend itself consists of milk protein isolate (which has both whey and casein in it), as well as whey protein concentrate 80% -- this is good because the whey concentrate is a higher quality form than many products contain, and it's not "front loaded". So you know you're getting greater (or equal) amounts of milk protein isolate. Great for taste!!There's lots of good stuff in here, including some of our favorites - CLA and MCT Oil, which we actually both recommend in our Weight Loss Supplement Stack for Women. Sounds like we're on the same page as USP!But there's something extra-interesting here:
Polydextrose - A "New" Type of Fiber
The new stuff in here has a ton of benefits that we researched on our new polydextrose page. Not many products have this, and it's mainly because it was only recently "legalized" by Health Canada.
But it looks both safe and beneficial -- the best study showed that it helped "suppress appetite" in a way. It was used as a fiber to replace some carbs in a lunchtime meal, and then researchers monitored the subjects' dinners.
Normally, when you do this, the subjects simply compensate by eating more int he evening. Not the case for polydextrose! The users ate normally at dinner, showing that polydextrose worked incredibly well as a food substitute. It's also used as a "baking agent" and sugar substitute, making this product even thicker and more filling than otherwise!
One note is that polydextrose is synthesized from glucose, sorbitol, and citric acid. So if you want a "natural" fiber source, this isn't it.
CLA, MCT Oil, and High Oleic Sunflower Oil
The fats included help to lower the bad cholesterol, induce lipolysis (fat burning), and help you maintain weight while burning fat (we're talking about CLA here). More coming on these!
No Filler Aminos
We have a report coming out soon, but the long and short of it is that there are ways for protein manufacturers to "pad their stats" in their products using some other amino acids. USPLabs isn't doing this.
2g Net Carbs
Likely from the protein itself, and perhaps the cocoa, there's 2g "net" carbs. This doesn't include "carbs from fiber" due to the polydextrose above.
The beta testers (ourselves included) agree -- this is a slam dunk tasting protein. Can't wait to try more flavors!
