Sulforaphane is a natural plant compound commonly found in cruciferous vegetables such as broccoli or cauliflower and is taken as a supplement for cardiovascular and digestive benefits. When found in foods Sulforaphane is in the inactive form known as glucoraphanin. It becomes activated in a chemical reaction when it comes into contact with myrosinase, an enzyme which is released as a defense response in plants when they are damaged. Our Sulforaphane is extracted from broccoli seeds and the extraction process activates the Sulforaphane so when it is taken as a supplement it is well absorbed and ready to take effect.
