Caffeine Benefits
Does Caffeine Work?
There are many benefits to using caffeine in moderate doses.
Caffeine for Weight Loss / Burning Fat & Energy:
Caffeine for mental focus:
Caffeine for Strength Weightlifting:
- It simply works. After caffeine administration, energy expenditure increased significantly (by 13%).... after treatment, lipid oxidation increased, and protein oxidation decreased.... and with caffeine administration, the free fatty acid turnover increased 2-fold
- Caffeine has a thermic effect and burns fat, but works better in healthy individuals: Caffeine/coffee stimulates the metabolic rate in both control and obese individuals; however, this is accompanied by greater oxidation of fat in normal weight subjects.
- Caffeine (100 mg) at 2 hour intervals over a 12-h day period increased the energy expenditure of both healthy and obese people by 8-11%.
- In obese women, weight-loss was not different in the groups, but ephedrine + caffeine users lost 4.5kg more body fat than placebo after 8 weeks. You can mix caffeine with the products from our ephedrine category, but be careful!
Caffeine for mental focus:
- In what is undoubtedly the most badass study on this site, During periods of sleep deprivation (Navy SEAL Hell Week) combined with other stressors, the use of 200 or 300 mg of caffeine enabled SEAL trainees to sight the target and pull the trigger faster without compromising shooting accuracy.

- In this study, subjects who were told in advance the task they would be undertaking were quicker to complete that task: Caffeine increased arousal level, which led to a narrowing of the focus of attention to the most salient task.
Caffeine for Strength Weightlifting:
- Caffeine increases weightlifting strength: During the caffeine trial, more total weight was lifted with the chest press, and a greater peak power was obtained during the Wingate test.
- However, this study showed no results: Although subjects reported increased alertness and enhanced mood after supplementation with caffeine and ephedra, there were no significant differences between any of the treatments in muscle strength, muscle endurance, or peak anaerobic power.
- Nor did this one: Results indicated no difference in measures of peak torque and power at the varying contracting velocities and fatigue index after caffeine ingestion.
