Ready-to-Drink Nitric Oxide Side Effects
Ready-to-Drink Nitric Oxide Side Effects:
As mentioned in the main nitric oxide side effects page, it is difficult to determine the side effects for ready-to-drink (RTD) nitric oxide products because they all have different ingredients. You must research each ingredient for its side effects. However, one of the primary ingredients, AAKG is safe, has been shown to have no side effects.
Some nitric oxide powders use arginine and citrulline instead of AAKG. In normal doses of 3-6g, arginine shows very little side effects, but as the doses get over 9g, diabetic patients can get gastrointestinal symptoms.
Creatine, another common ingredient in nitric oxide products, also has no proven side effects.
Caffeine is another common ingredient. Its side effects have been disputed for decades, but it's generally agreed that excessive caffeine intake can lead to a fast heart rate, excessive urination, nausea, vomiting, restlessness, anxiety, depression, tremors, and difficulty sleeping. These can all occur if you take too much caffeinated nitric oxide powder, or if you take caffeine or drink coffee after using one of these products. Moderate caffeine use is a must. After using these products, you won't need more caffeine and can stay away from those side effects.
Is Ready-to-Drink Nitric Oxide safe?
Ready-to-drink nitric oxide products are probably safe for healthy individuals. As discussed in the main nitric oxide safety page, while studies show that AAKG is safe (AAKG is Arginine Alpha-Ketoglutarate, the main ingredient in many of these nitric oxide products), these products also contain a lot of other ingredients that may or may not be healthy for you. One such ingredient is caffeine, which should not be taken by caffeine-sensitive individuals, people with high blood pressure, or obese individuals. Other stimulants are often in these products, and we do not recommend them to unhealthy people. We highly recommend researching every single ingredient in the products below and determining if they are safe for your body before using them.
