Data suggests that this plant lignan competes against endogenous androgens for binding space on Sex Hormone Binding Globulin (SHBG), a plasma protein in humans which "shuttles" androgens like testosterone around the body. Additionally, Halodrol Liquigels™ contains an exceptionally pure version of an ecdysterone - ecdysterones are insect molting hormones that have been used in the former Soviet Bloc countries for decades in order to induce positive changes in performance and physique. Data from numerous studies illustrates that ecdysterones can cause an overall shift in nitrogen retention, generally accepted as an indicator of muscular hypertrophy. Such products have been sold in the United States since the mid-1980's and many of these ecdysterones are also naturally found in plants and herbs.
