Zero-Carb Sweet Bacon With Stevia

Bacon is one of the world's finest foods for those of us who know that saturated fat is healthy. However, if you're on a zero-sugar, low-carb, keto, or paleo diet, you can no longer enjoy brown sugar bacon or bacon with maple syrup on it.

However, you can still enjoy the awesome taste of sweet bacon in a zero-carb fashion: sweet bacon with stevia.

Buy Optimum Nutrition Liquid SteviaStevia is a plant with very sweet leaves. Its extract is used as a sweetener and sugar substitute. It contains zero calories and zero carbohydrates. Not only does it replace poisonous sugar in your diet, it may also have additional benefits of treating obesity and high blood pressure.

Zero-Carb Sweet Bacon with Stevia Recipe

The recipe is very simple. Toss your bacon (preferably uncured, nitrate-free) in the pan, and add two drops of liquid stevia extract to each slice. Use your finger or a brush to move it around. Cook the bacon as desired. You may even add another drop to the other side of the bacon when you flip it, although I haven't found a need for this.

Personally, I've found that liquid stevia works great with foods and thick liquids, including smoothies, protein shakes, and oatmeal (as well as bacon), but haven't had much luck with it in coffee or tea. I have not tried stevia powder, although you can certainly give it a go and let us know how it works.
