First note that glutamine does not build muscle mass but can assist with immune function and intestinal problems. We only recommend it to people who are prone to being sick or have stomach problems.
The best way is to find out if glutamine works for you is by supplementing 5g first thing in the morning (possibly with other BCAAs and creatine and 5g immediately post-workout (with creatine, BCAAs, and Waxy Maize). Glutamine is best absorbed on an empty stomach, such as before breakfast and 20 minutes before your bedtime meal.It is not unheard of for large bodybuilders to take 25g glutamine a day (on an empty stomach between and before meals), and to raise it to as high as 50g if getting sick, but we recommend sticking with 5g dosages and moving up to 10g at a time if getting sick.
